Meet Kelly Cooney

Kelly Cooney is a dynamic educator who works with districts to ensure instructional excellence for all students. Her experience spans over two decades of problem-solving to improve outcomes for students from all backgrounds, with a focus on multilingual learners. After teaching overseas and in the Boston Public Schools, Kelly Cooney joined district administration teams as English Learner Director. She uses data and research-based best practices to build teacher capacity while working with administration to transform teacher and student support systems. Kelly works with local and state education agencies to support the identification and implementation of high quality instructional materials that center the assets and needs of multilingual learners. She also serves as a consultant for the English Learner Success Forum, Understood.org, and iCivics
